I go here and I've hated most of it, the only thing I actually like is leaving.
Went to school here for half a semester.. went through so much bullying from peers & teachers. Faced with racial discrimination for being multiracial. Experienced depression & anxiety every time I walked through the doors. Counselors were very unhelpful when discussing bullying issues or future plans, ACT & SAT, and Louisiana graduation requirements. 0/5 starts would be given if allowed.
Another and final thing I will say, because honestly I could go on forever on how much this school sucks, there needs to be locks in the bathrooms, I understand the school only likes to spend their money on football and cheerleaders, but at least give us the right to lock the bathroom door while we use it, it only takes one little nudge on the door and then everyone has seen everything.
Unless you have a relative on the staff,
are in football, or participate in cheerleading/pep squad you are treated as trash by students and staff. For example, I was in Mrs. Waldrons (a councelor) office going over my schedule when her daughter walks in (she is skipping class) to ask her mother for food. Mrs Waldron then ignores me and the rest of my lunch period is now taken up by her whiney daughter. Then Mrs Waldron have her permission to drive off of school campus (which is way against school rules) to get herself some food. It's nice to know that as long as your mommy works at the school you can do whatever you want.
I know I wasted my time on writing this, because honestly the school could care less about what their students have to say, or anything about the students that aren't in football or cheerleading
I am a senior this year at haughton high school. I complain hardly as much as i should. But something really made me mad today. I had to get a temporary ID and I had the money IN MY HAND TO PAY. And the women who put in my number to pull up my account did not ask if i was going to pay for the ID. So i walked on to get a tardy. And so i get my tardy and I say "is this where i pay for my temp" and they lady there says "no, you were supposed to pay for it over there." (And points maybe about 5 inches away) and i say "ok well i have the money right here in my hand" and then she looks at me so rudely and says "well just pay for it tomorrow. Dont spend that dollar." So now i am so mad because i was not allowed to pay on time and i will have to waste my time tomorrow in the morning doing something that is so stupid and mundane. So if you are thinking that our school has its stuff together and wont blame you for the stuff that is the staff's fault, you are wrong and should reconsider moving here.
The fact that one of the vice principals has taken up my friends phone because she was doing homework /before/ school started and the other vice principal has called me over to her and questioned my lanyard because it had a piece of paper in it, note that the front side of my id was showing.
I literally had the boy who sexually assaulted me in my lunch shift the semester after it happened but you know “we will do what ever we can to make you feel safe” yeah for 5 seconds. Thanks Haughton
I tbh wouldn't even give it one star but there's no option where you can hit zero so..
The staff here are especially rude, they seem to only care for themselves and barely any about the students.
